HEADLINES


We are getting a lot of feed back from the Seven Gates area about fires and rubbish left all over the place.
Please be mindful to take your rubbish with you and clean up after yourself.

 
Please be sure to carry your PFD & fishing licences as NSW Maritimes are out. Nsw fisheries inspectors are working the Snowy Mountains area during the peak holiday season. So remember if you do not have a current fishing licence and on your person you will be fined. So for the sake of 5 minutes do yourself a favour.

Maritime services are on the lakes, So make sure you water craft are up to par with current safety standards, if you are not sure contact Ph 13 12 56 or website:

Headlines:  Fishing reports have been good again this week.  The lakes have provided the most reports and  Eucumbene has produced yet again with some excellent baitfishing with ,worms,Grubs and the fly fishing has been outstanding.  Jindabyne has also fired over the weekend with some great trolling

Flyfishing
Rivers:- Eucumbene river has been slow down the bottom end but it has improved up the top end with some good browns and rainbows in the deeper pools. Most off the fish are taking B/H Nymphs black, Brown on the bottom in the middle of the day later on in the afternoon where starting to see more hatches and the fish are starting to get more active about time. Best fly’s are Royal Wulff, Klinkhammers, Adams parachute, Royal Humpy with the weather getting cooler now we are starting to see more fish moving around on the top feeding.

Thredbo river
, has been much better with more fish moving around down the lower end below the bridge with good reports off rainbows up to 2 to 3lb Best fly’s are B/H Nymphs black, brown on the bottom get them rolling on the rocks. Dry’s Stimulators, Elk hair caddis, red tags, Snowy Mountains hopper lat in the afternoon.

Moonbah river
, is still fishing well on dry’s we got one good report off a brown Caught on a dry’s around 5lb well done to the mystery fisherman. Best fly’s Royal Wulff, Glenn Innes hopper, Elk hair Caddis, Klinkhammer Rust.
Don’t forget about the small rivers there are plenty of fish big and small it’s always a good day out on the dry’s.

upper Tantangara river,
the best fishing has been late in the afternoon the higher you go the better it is by the reports we have been getting. “worth a look”

 

 
FLY FISHING

LOCAL DAMS
 
Eucumbene, Tantangara, Guthega, three mile
Lake Eucumbene has picked up in the last week with some good rainbows coming in yes we have been getting some mixed reports of fishing good and bad
But this week it has been good the rainbows have been full of Mudeyes and hitting the fly’s hard this is what we have been waiting for hope this is it!!
Best areas are Rushys Bay, Middlinging bank, and Wainui bay. With the cooler weather moving in the fishing should start improving by what we are hearing it’s good.
We haven’t been getting any reports from the top end of the lake so if anyone has been up there let us know thanks.
Best fly’s are Fuzzy Wuzzys, Muddlers, black B/H Nymphs, Woolly buggers black, brown, woolly Worms black
The rainbows have been smashing the fly’s so up your tippet good luck
Braemer Bay is still fishing very well so it would be worth the drive.
 
Guthega Dam is going well but only small fish at the moment this is a good lake to walk around using a 3 to 4wt rod.
Three Mile Dam as Guthega pick your days and you will have a good time.
 
Tantangara Dam good reports have been coming out of the dam with some good browns 
Best fly’s are woolly buggers black, olive, foam Mudeye’s, Fuzzy Wuzzys, and black B/H Nymphs
 
Lake Jindabyne still not Many reports coming from that way so with the comp on this weekend hope things improve if you are up that way send us a report
 
       
 
Jindabyne:- Spinning and Trolling no Reports
Eucumbene:- Trolling and Spinning
Reports have been good with some good fishing down the bottom end off the lake around and around Braemer Bay
Rushy’s, Middlingbank, seven gates, Wainui bay, trolling with tassies devils, 89,104,y62,32,31,76,99
Most fish have been taking them about 40 meters out with some good results.
Sting lures have been going well closer to the shore line picking up some good browns, 11,4,24,17,18,23
the best lure has been the strike pro blades inGold, silver, brown, black, try them you will be surprised.
Other lakes to try Guthega dam and Three mile dam this is a good time to get up there with most off the fish taking small
Lures like Celtas and Rapalas have been working well if you haven’t tried these lakes get up there.
Tantangara has been doing much the same as Eucumbene but the stand out lurer is the strike pro blades from the shore line and trolling
Give them ago Gold, silver are working well
Micro Min Min are working well in the deeper waters Rainbow the best.

                                                  BAITFISHING
 
 
best place to fish is Eucumbene fishing very well
best bait is worms and Mudeye's.
Baitfishing :-
Mudeye’s are back in stock now and are producing some good fish at Eucumbene worm as well have been the stand out Bait with some good browns been caught.
And rainbows been caught power bait has been working alright in most places.
Best areas are seven gates, Middlingbank, old Adaminaby, anglers Reach and Rushys bay.
If you can catch some grasshoppers try them under a bubble.
Most off the bait fisherman are doing well all around the lake so if you want to get them browns there are plenty of them about.
Tantangara has been great with worms, Mudeyes, power bait. The bait fishing has been good with plenty of browns and rainbows been Caught
