Fly Fishing Rivers

The Eucumbene river has been very slow this year with most off the rainbows have gone back to the lake early most off the fish went back with the last rainfall.
We did get some good reports up higher on the Euc but not many. Up on the Thredbo river has been much the same with little reports coming in let’s hope the fish did their job and went back early.
What can I say about the rainbows maybe there something in the air but I do know there in there let’s hope they show up in the lake soon.
Don’t forget about the Monaro rivers we have been stocking them for sometime now so they should be fishing well if you haven’t fished these rivers around hear give it a go the rivers are running and there clear to me this is fishing and it’s been awhile now and I’m looking forward to getting out there.

Lake Eucumbene:-Most off the fishing on the lake has been good down the bottom end off the lake around Buckenderra, Rushes bay, seven gates, fry pan
The browns are looking for food in close so this is a good time to start using Nymphs and small fuzzy wuzzys.
There has been a few rainbows Caught in the larger bay around Rushes bay and seven gates most of the rainbows have been taking B/H Nymphs black and brown.
Yes I do think the rainbow will come on this year but we will have to wait let’s see around November.
Best wet flies are B/H nymphs, fuzzt wuzzys, woolly buggers, Mrs Simpsons

Lake Jindabyne:- Has been great all over with plenty off fishing on both sides off the lake most fish are taking wet flies, Woolly buggers, fuzzys, Mrs Simpsons, Woolly worms are the stand out flies. In the afternoon a few people have been using red tags, klinkhammers, with good results. Overall Jindabyne has been the lake to fish the browns are in good nick with a few rainbows in between don’t worry the rainbows will be starting soon and what we have seen you will have a good time catching them. Most people are fishing over on the western side off the lake late in the afternoon that’s where all the activity is at the moment.

TROLLING AND SPINNING JINDABYNE & EUCUMBENE
Trolling around Eucumbene has been good with some good reports around Buckenderra, Rushes bay, Wainui Bay, have been the stand out bays
Most people are using Blades, tassies, Rapalas, and the new strike Pro Bob N Spoons.
We haven’t been getting many reports from the top end off the lake so if you have been up there at any time let us know or if the holiday parks up that way have any reports the us a Email thanks.
At the moment I would be fishing around Buckenderra this seems to be the place to be with the reports getting better and better every week.
best tassies are most yellow wings, 55, 67, 88, 94 don’t forget to try the sting lures as well.

Hi Mick and team,

Wow wasn’t that wind something on Saturday and Sunday. Whilst my dad Ray and I tried to endeavour  the rocking and rolling of the waves into Frying Pan arm on Lake Eucumbene, we decided fishing conditions were pretty impossible, however, we continued to battle it out despite the serious surfing conditions. Then of course, Monday (home day), turned out to be pretty perfect weather.

Below is a photo of a 2.8 kilo brown trout I caught trolling on the Monday. I also came away with another 2 kilo brownie and a nice rainbow. Ray hooked on to some good rainbows and a small brown.

she has done it again .the skipper has just quit
                               now that's a rainbow

JINDABYNE...
Best areas to fish around the dam wall, Poo bay down below the Jindabyne club, snowline caravan Park. things have been getting better every week good reports have been coming in from the top end and the bottom end off the lake let’s hope this keeps going as I have been just told there letting water out over the dam wall. Overall the fishing is good around jindy and I do think it’s only going to Improve as the weather gets warmer.
Best lures are tassies, Blades, Bob N Spoons.

Hi guys,

Just thought I'd send ya a pic of a 6lb brown caught near buckenderra on the downrigger with a brown bomber.

Cheers, rob

Isaac with a nice brown 2.5kg on power bait

                  “BAIT FISHING IS FANTASTIC”

BAIT IN STOCK MUDEYES, WORMS, GRUBS, POWER BAIT

JINDABYNE... Jindabyne is still fishing really well regardless of the releasing of the waters. The fish have been caught on Power bait under scrub worm and some reports show mudeyes are coming in to the swing of things. If the weather allow if you cannot go past a worm under a bubble float and hold on as the big browns take off with it. Yes we have Mudeyes now and there picking up the rainbows out wide.

Eucumbene-:Bait fishing is really good with some good reports coming in most off the fishing has been down the bottom end off the lake the browns are taking worms and grubs with the worms doing the best. The power bait has been a little slow but it’s still working well on the rainbows. What can I say about the bait reports well it’s fantastic and the browns are everywhere and big so all I can say get up there and have a good time.

the locals are doing well all over the lakes
