LAKE EUCUMBENE FLY FISHING.
Still most of the fly fishing has been a little hard but still we are having better reports around seven gates, frying pan with some good rainbows coming in the best flies at the moment
Are Olive Woolly buggers, Mark 2, tome Jones.
Most of these flies are fished into the night with some good results at the moment most of the fishing has been ok around these areas with the Mudeye activity starting to happen.
The lake is staying at a steady level and a few showers up high in the mtns things should start to Improve.
So if you are going out for a fly fish I do recommend seven gates and frying pan at the moment.
Best are Seven gates, frying pan,
Best wet flies Fuzzy Wuzzy, woolly buggers, tom Jones, Mrs Simpson,
Best dry flies snowy hopper, Stimulators, Red tags best try them with a Nymph dropper
Remember we have had some good reports from frying Pan this week.

FLY FISHING JINDABYNE

Jindabyne has been good and bad with some good reports

coming in one day and the next bad but with all these showers

up high lets hope things start to change.

we still are getting some good reports from Kalkite and Jindy

east again on the woolly buggers and bead head Nymphs.

Most fishermen are fishing late into the night with good results

Mostly browns.

Best areas are Kalkite, East Jindy, Poo Bay

Best Dries are Stimulators, Royal Wulff, Red tags,

Klinkhammers, Snowy hoppers

Yes most fly fishermen are doing it tuff at Jindabyne but that's

fishing put the time in you will get good results.

Fly fishing Rivers

Thredbo was a little higher this week after some good rain

this is what we  have been waiting for the reports have been

coming in from the ski tube, blow

the perisher bridge and up in Thredbo it’s self just remember

look and you will get results most people are walking past

most fish so just stop look around the Shady areas  and in the

deeper waters.

Best dry flies are Red tags, beetles black, Coachman, Wulff

Royal

Best wets are Nymphs, Pheasant tails, Prince Nymphs

Remember the Thredbo river isn’t the only stream around

there go exploring!!

Fly Fishing Rivers

Eucumbene river has been a little hard but reports are

coming in that the fish are getting more active late in the

afternoons with all this hot weather there’s more and more

insects getting about.

So the best areas to be fishing is the top end of Eucumbene

and in the gorge try to fish most of the shady areas this is

where you will find the fish most people have been fishing

all the open areas remember when it’s hot and bright we

don’t like it same goes for the fish so look for the cooler

waters.

Start fishing the runs and let the fly get into the deeper

waters after the runs this is where the fish are there all

looking for the cooler waters. You are not going to find the

fish in the ponds with this hot weather.

Best flies are B/H Nymphs, std Nymphs,

Best Dry’s are Hare’s Ear & Gold, Xmas beetles, red tags,

Wulff Royal, Stimulators,

TROLLING  EUCUMBENE,

Most of the fishing around Eucumbene has been ok but most

places you must go deep around 25 foot if you are flat

lining slow down get the lures deep move out into the deeper

waters

Old Adaminaby trolling with Blades , Tassie’s, stings around yens

cove, grace lea Island, cemetery point.

Dame wall
Trolling with Fat fish at a nice slow speed have been

picking up browns and some rainbows out in the deeper water the

smaller flat fish have been working with cow bells and ford fenders.

Down at Buckenderra
the fishing has been a little slow with so get

into the deeper waters don't go in close it's not working start

Trolling across the lake one side to the other.

Jindabyne Report

Trolling Jindabyne

Jindabyne has been fishing ok with most fish being Caught

out in the deeper

waters if you’re using Lead line 3 Colours or more is doing the

job.

if you are down rigging you need to get down about 35 feet

best lures for down rigging are Tassie's 111,112,48,y48 best

sting lures are 18,17,8,3,5 and don't forget about the blades.

if you are going trolling and just using mono line the Rapalas

are doing really well

on the rainbows this way you can move closer to the shore

line.

best bays are Sid's bay, Rushes and around East jindabyne.

the weather is starting to get very hot but this seems to be

working for Jinabyne

with good reports of rainbow starting to come in.

Lake Spinning

Spinning on the lake has been tricky at times Best results
have been around in the
deeper waters so if you are planning a day out spinning start
from the bowling club start walking towards the dam wall the water is a lot cooler down that way and the fish are more active.
Best lures are Celtas, Blades and Rapalas.
Best time are early mornings or late afternoons

Lake Bait Fishing

power bait at frying pan and seven gates has been working well with the rainbows Mudeyes have been good used under a float so go longer with the leader best results on a 3meter leader with the Mudeyes and with the Couters as well but with a small split shot to stop them coming back up to the surface the Mudeyes have been on the Improve.
worms under a float and on the bottom have been working well with the brown and now we are getting more reports of rainbow the power bait should start working.
