FLY FISHING

Eucumbene.

Fly fishing is still going well around most parts off the lake with the best reports  coming from Rushes, seven gates, Middling Bank.
Most fishers are getting rainbows now and a few browns into the night best times are from 6p.m. to around 11p.m.
Most off the larger bays are fishing well with Muddler and woolly buggers black, brown olive this is where you will find most off the rainbows moving around looking for mud eye's.
If you are fishing the small bays slow your retrieve down change your flies go small bead head Nymphs are working well, black green, brown are the best colours.
At the moment most fishers are happy with the fish they are catching and it’s only getting better as the weeks go on the days are warm and the water temp is cool i do not think it could get any better then this.

Best wet flies are Woolly buggers, fuzzy wuzzy’s, bead head Nymphs, STD Nymphs
Dry flies are going well but at the moment the wets are the go. Royal wulffs, Stimulators  and Humpy’s

Sturg with a good brown on Euc he told me it was 10lb don't think so!!!

Jindabyne Lake

Well jindabyne has had some good reports this week with most fishers doing well on the wets and dry’s with the rainbows and brown.
Best areas have been around hatchery bay, waste point, hey shed bay and the snowy arm down lower on the lake around poo bay and the dam wall.
Now the nights have been getting cooler the fishing has picked up with the wet flies doing the trick.
As you would do at Eucumbene fish most off the bigger bays the fishing seems to be doing well with the rainbows.
Jindabyne will start to pick up now as the weeks go on with the water temp are nice and low and the bays have a plenty off mudye’s in them.
Best wet flies are Wooly buggers, fuzzy’s, Nymphs and mark 2 buggers
Best dry flies are larger Stimulators, wulffs and snowy hoppers

A good mate side show bob fly fishing Euc, Rainbow over 2lb and a brown 3lb well done mate see you next year at the show.

EUCUMBENE RIVER
The river is running well and the fishing is good the water temperature is just right and we just had more rain.
Most fishers have been doing well up around Kiandra and down at Sawyers with a mixed bag off big and small fish but most fishers are happy with the results.
Reports have been good down at the mouth with most fish taking the wet flies at night. If you are fishing though the day you are best trying two Nymphs or a dry with a Nymph dropper above the runs this has been working well on most fish. When fishing these rivers take your time the fish are there look and walk slow cast more it’s good to catch, that fish you did not see.
Will not be long now till the browns start running if the rain keeps coming and the river stays cool things might start early do not worry we will let you know!!

THREDBO RIVER
The river has been fishing well from bottom to top with good results coming from Thredbo and the hatchery. Most fishers have been getting browns in the deeper pools and the rainbows before the runs. It’s been a mixed bag with the fish big and small but worth the time. Now there has been some rain about thing should get even better, worth a look down a the mouth should get you some good results. It will not be long till the browns will start to spawn if we keep getting the rain things might happen early. But at the moment the fishing is going, well in the river with plenty off activity going on in the afternoons.

TANTANGARA,
Reports have been good up in the river most fly fishers have been getting browns and just a few rainbows but it’s all looking well up that way at the moment the insect hatch has been very good fish are very active late in the afternoons. Nymph fishing with a strike indicator has been the best way to fish or a Royal wulff and Nymph.

TROLLING LAKE JINDABYNE
Early mornings have been good as well late in the afternoons like your bait fishing the trolling is all good over on the western side off the lake.
Most fishers have been trolling Tassie’s and getting good results with rainbows and browns, Up around waste point Rapalas and Blade lure is working the best.
Down at the snow liner, Celtas, Rapalas and Tassie devils are working and down towards the dam wall Strike pro blades and flat fish are working well. overall Jindabyne is fishing well now with good reports coming in with all this rain and wind it’s turning the water on the lake and the fish are starting to feed at the moment it’s worth a look.

Most fishers have been doing it tuff over the last few weeks but this week has been picking up with good results on Tassie’s,flat fish and minnows.
Most Caught fish have been rainbows out in the deeper waters on Minnows and the browns in close on Tassie’s, best time have been early mornings from 6 to 9 a.m from then move out to the deeper waters.
If you have a small  motor try the flat fish nice and slow the browns have been smashing them.

Tassie’s 4, 26, all yellow wings, 73, 88, 52, 47
Try the rebel Crick hoppers behind a ford fender or cow bell Crick hoppers are working well.

LAKE EUCUMBENE BAIT FISHING

Bait fishing is going really well with good reports coming from Buckenderra, Middling bank, Seven gates, Rushes and the dam wall.
Mud eye's are still going well but are getting hard to get but do not forget about the grubs and power bait good reports have been coming in all week grubs have been the pick off the baits around buckenderra and middling bank.
Over at Seven gates the worms and grubs have been good and around at frying pan power bait and worms have been good on the rainbows.
At the moment the worms, grubs, power bait is the pick off all baits for the rainbows and the mud eye’s are still picking up good browns, Let's hope we can have some mud eye’s for Easter??

G'day fellas,
Both myself and my mate fished Eucumbene river a couple of weeks ago and visited your store on the way there and also on the way home. I live in newcastle and my mate lives in Wagga. Both visits we had a good yarn with Ray, whom put me onto a good book (salt water flys by Lefty Kreh) and influenced me to buy some gear and get tying on some white Deceivers. I have just moved up here and miss my trout waters, and decided to by a salt water rig !! I don't know much about salt water fly fishing. I tied a deceiver this arvo flipped him out half a dozen times on dusk ( bait fisherman sniggering in background), and BANG !!!! Had this 45cm flatty smash the ???? out of my deceiver. The picture is of my daughter holding it. Thank you so much for the advice Ray !! Your service was straight up no bullshit !! This store is the best I have come across and will continue buying online and also visit when I can. Many thanks again.
Regards
Duane Chugg
