The cool nights of March has brang some much needed relief to the snowy's rivers and lakes resulting in some excellent fishing. Both lake Eucumbene and Jindabyne fishing well to all methods.Trolling tassie devils,Nomura minnows and rapalas with downriggers, lead line or downunder sinkers at 8m still being productive as well as flat lining during the low light periods in the shallower edges and bays being a reliable way to find a few trout.Shore based angling around the steep drop offs has been excellent with exceptional large fish encountered by those who fish worms, fly or lure around the boulders.Bryan Cossart has been getting amongst these fish and after being busted off 3 times he managed a 7.8kg brown to the net.Bryans hot spots for these monsters are the dam wall and Braemar. The rivers have been great considering the low rain fall and are fishing well with terrestrial bugs like hoppers and black crickets and the spin fishos getting their fair share on 3cm nomura hard bodies and celta spinners.I ventured out with crazy trout hunter Donovan Wilson to the Badja river and we had a ball on its resident browns. Its a lovely tannin stained river that boasts a large population of trout averaging between 500 grams to 3kg.Best flies were brown beetles, cocky bondhus, nymphs and woolly buggers, lures that would suit the river would be small celtas, soft plastics and small diving hard bodies...tight lines

Jack Biilmann, this man is just getting better and better well done mate

LAKE EUCUMBENE TROLLING

Tolling Eucumbene has been a little tuff lately with all these hot days but if you fish at the right time you will get the results.
Times to go out is before daylight to about 9am then start moving out into the deeper waters so get up early if you won’t the results!!
Over at braemer bay things are going well with the rainbows and browns, Tassie Devils, 4, 120, 124, S12
Seven Gates again early start, Tassie Devils , 121, 55, 67
Rushes Bay work the deeper bays work your way in then when going out work straight up the guts, Tassie Devils, 67, SD, y36, 82
Buckenderra things have been a little slow so at the moment you guess is as good as mine!! Maybe a little Information from Buckenderra would be nice!!
Anglers Reach reports are ok best fishing late in the afternoons till dark, Tassie Devils, 97, y94, y123
Old Adaminaby early start working the lures out about 30 meter from the bank with larger lures, Rapala 9, 11, 13 Spotted Dog and Rainbow, 9s and 7s in the jointed lures
Overall the lake is fishing ok at the right times

LAKE JINDABYNE TROLLING

Jindy has been doing well for the last few weeks with some really good fish come out.
Again this lake will fish at it’s best when you get out early and that’s about an hour before daylight using large lures Rapala 13,11,9 Rainbows, Browns, Spotted Dogs .
Best areas have been around the Islands and close to the shore line going up from the caravan park.
Best lures are Tassies, 121, 55, 82, 112, 120, Rapalas, Blades.

G’day guys big Ian here, we had a great couple of days fishing up at lake eucumbene the weather was great and the fishing was even better , we fished 630am to 930am every morning and 530-8pm and caught 3-5 fish every session, all rainbows some just under legal size and a couple of good ones in really nice condition , we used power bait and worms on a long shank hook ,one small piece of orange power bait and a small piece of worm  no longer than 5cm if the worm is to big they don’t eat it, we ate 1 fish and returned the rest, I think the fishing is going to be really good this year so please don’t take more than what you need and respect the lake and clean up after yourselves, good luck!  this is big Ian signing off

LAKE TANTANGARA TROLLING

As always this lake is still fishing well from top to bottom it’s still at a good level and there’s plenty of insect life so most trolling has been done at a faster pace and with good results.

BAIT FISHING EUCUMBENE
Bait fishing, things have Improved after all that hot weather and the worms have been the pick with good reports coming in from the bottom end of the lake.
Best areas are Buckenderra, Middling Bank, Rushes, Braemer Bay, Seven Gates,
Worms under a bubbles have been effective about 15 meters out and good results late in the afternoons on the bottom. Mudeye’s are still working well but hard to get and power bait is still going well with a 1/2 meter drop
Overall bait fish with worms have been the best bait .
And don’t forget about the new bait we have in stock just ask the staff and they will be happy to show you.
