A Few Great Flies and how to fish them PETER MORSE

IT'S so refreshing to read a great book on saltwater fly fishing thats been written from an Australian perspective. My book case is home to plenty of other excellent books on catching fish on a fly rod, but the target species described in those works such as stripers, smallmouth bass, snook or giant tarpon all reside on the other side of the planet. This wonderful book deals solely with species that are either Australian or readily accessible to Aussie fly fishers such as New Zealand yellowtail kingfish or New Caledonian bonefish.

Peter Morse is the only person I know who has the expertise and talent to write such an expansive book which covers everything from fly fishing for bream to barra and bass to billfish. Hes caught over 300 individual species on fly which truly amazes me.

The book is packed with hard earned fly fishing knowledge with each chapter filled with invaluable advice and plenty of entertaining fishing yarns relating to the topic at hand. The book features superb photography throughout and user friendly instructions for tying a range of essential fly patterns that will just about catch anything that swims.

This is a must read book for anyone from downunder who wants to get into saltwater fly fishing or chasing our freshwater native sportfish for that matter or anyone from overseas who is contemplating a fly fishing trip to Australia.

After reading A Few Great Flies & and how to fish them I just wanted to pick up a fly rod and get out on the water. It really is an inspiring read.
